Is it rude to go into a fast food restaurant just for a water cup?

I had to today because I just came back from being on the treadmill for almost 40 minutes at planet fitness and at the one that I go to they just HAD to be remodeling the restrooms 🙄🙄 They have the restrooms and the water fountains all sectioned off where we can’t get to. But the gym is also in a little strip mall and so they said that we could use the restroom in the mall. I was so thirsty and so I was trying to get a drink from the fountain but it only gave out a little bit of water, i almost had to do mouth to mouth cpr on the mouth part just to drink🤢🤢 (I didn’t tho) And so I just decided to drive to the nearest fast food restaurant to get a water cup. They said I could and everything and after I drink that I looked back and they were looking at me 😩😩 So I don’t know if I was impolite to just go in there and ask for a water cup and not buy anything or what. Like come on people you’re still getting paid even if I don’t buy anything 🙄

The fast food place isn't obligated to give you water and even if they were, fuck 'em. These franchises are a cancer on the Earth; they advertise poison and lobby Congress for more human suffering.

Some give complimentary water to people who are just walking outdoors but many won’t do it. The Subway where my daughter worked would do that. There is a fast-food chicken tender restaurant here that won’t even give water to customers ordering foods. They told us we would have to buy a soft drink and we all got up and walked out and never went back after telling them we have never been any restaurant that won’t give customers a cup of water to have with their meals.

@cherokeepatti It’s so weird how you mentioned subway and this was actually a subway that I went to 😅😅

@TurtlePink I thought it might be the owners that did it, they were really generous about helping charity events and donating food for those. My daughter said they had hearts of gold.

Nope the customer is always right, it' s a goodwill gesture on their part to be nice to you. I've done if for water for my dogs.
I wouldn't worry about it. You needed that.

It happens all the time. They are accustomed to it.
