In the days before cellphones...

How would you quickly get help if you ended up in a car accident? Just curious.

somebody would say "I'll call for help" and stop at a "pay phone" (you may have to google that)

@Pretzel You know what's funny, is that I remember pay phones being around back in 2004. Heck, I actually used one. I think they disappeared completely by the mid-late 2000s.

@SubstantialKick what is horrible is that superman had to figure out another plan - no more phone booths

@SubstantialKick I remember using phone boxes (payphones) in 2015/16. It was before unlimited calls etc on mobiles and it was actually cheaper to use a phonebox if you wanted a long conversation. There was one at the end of my street. 😆
