What were you scared of as a kid?

Fire alarms. My elementary school had these scary ass fire alarms that sounded like truck horns, lol. I think they looked like this:

Just about everything. Even the sound of the toilet flushing had me running for my bed. Of course I'd take a giant leap so a monster wouldn't grab my legs.
