@SubstantialKick I definitely still have respect. But one of our neighbors had a golden retriever, a really friendly dog. I’d see it and hide behind my father. Pop would tell me not to run “because the dog thinks you want to play and will chase you” but I was really scared. Years later someone gave my father a Belgian Shepherd/Malamute blend puppy, Duke. He was a great dog personality wise, but he looked intimidating. I walked him occasionally.
@bijouxbroussard I was walking my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (before I had my younger dog), and a little girl hid behind a man’s (her father?) leg. The man looked down at the 16 lb. dog and just shook his head.
@SubstantialKick Thé funny thing is, I’ve since been around a lot of dogs, even pet sit a few. And to date the only dog that ever bit me was my own pet Chihuahua. They tend to challenge you for dominance. Possibly because they are so small.
