Why am I always tortured in my dreams?

Like how many break-in nightmares am I gonna have??

I wonder if there is anything I can do about this.
I live in a decent area, (I didn't before)

But geez, I've been where I am for about 7 months. I've been having these types of nightmares for years.

And I have actually experienced a break in before as a child.
A store I worked at was robbed and I was shot at.
2 years ago, a "neighbor" 2 houses down house was nearly broken into. I was told they ran off when her alarm went off.

I'm tormented even when i'm not awake馃様

I have dreams/nightmares for different reasons. It is more subverted like the dreams are fine but waking up is the bad part despite not thinking of that one thing usually - or not trying to, for long periods. I really have no say in it. It was not a violent thing like this but something very different. Not sure I would say that I have come to terms with it but it's something that has followed me around and so I have to kind of just accept it in some way because it is bound to happen again.

Perhaps consider a new hobby or something that instils you with a sense of safeness and security if such a thing is at all possible; martial arts - Krav Maga being perhaps most applicable in the actual real world - and maybe weapons training of some sort. A handgun and/or shotgun, rifle or whatever.

[I checked your profile to see if USA so I am regret if this is irrelevant/useless advice. I hope it is of use.]

@SW-User I tend to have nightmares when asthma or heartburn are present. It is disturbing to sleep. I had a nightmare that the neighbor鈥檚 house was on fire and woke up with stomach acid in my throat

@cherokeepatti Ouch. Is there any kind of preventative you can take for that?

@SW-User Get my diet straightened out. Am taking Moringa leaf powder, magnesium and some other stuff to help. Also, ironically, drinking lemon juice & water helps to neutralize it.
