Why am I always tortured in my dreams?

Like how many break-in nightmares am I gonna have??

I wonder if there is anything I can do about this.
I live in a decent area, (I didn't before)

But geez, I've been where I am for about 7 months. I've been having these types of nightmares for years.

And I [i]have[/i] actually experienced a break in before as a child.
A store I worked at was robbed and I was shot at.
2 years ago, a "neighbor" 2 houses down house was nearly broken into. I was told they ran off when her alarm went off.

I'm tormented even when i'm not awake😔

Scary and it embeds in your memory. Our home was broken into several times when I was a teen and we’d discover things missing such as my baby book with photos etc. Up to a couple years ago I would sometimes have nightmares about being in that same rural house at night and looking out to see men prowling around and trying to
Keep them from breaking in. The dreams stopped after I looked on Google Earth and saw that the house was gone and a new one built in a slightly different place on the land. I hope I never have any more of those dreams
