Ever heard of pareidolia?

I used to stare at the patterns on my bedroom curtains as a child.

I'm sure everyone sees faces in cloud formations.

[c=004A59]Those are great. It's happened to me once in life: I was at the kitchen sink and happened to glance out the window at the woods behind the house. One of the tree trunks had a pattern like the face of a satyr staring back at me. If I stepped back and viewed it from another angle, it disappeared.[/c]

I wonder when people make these things if they realize it looks like a face. And if so, was it on purpose.

Sure have. Just never knew the terminology.
