Do you ever find with Stanley Kubrick films that it has one or two brilliant scenese, followed by bugger all?

His movies will have some great, awesome bits and then the rest is a lot of drawn out scenes where nothing really happens, kind of like some sort of photographer's masturbatorial tribute to his own vanity.
