@Vivaci An older sister. When you live with abusive parents they're your world, and they control your world. If you lose out, you go back to them. And there were things in my life that I enjoyed, there were my cats, the dog, the house, the bush, my friends. Even with the time my dad raped me and the next day at school and I remember feeling far away from my self, it just never occurred to me to tell anybody. I mean, I had my friends and when you have only ever known abuse it's just what you know, and you don't want to give up the good things or the people you know for the unknown.

@Vivaci He was a gun nut and handed me a loaded gun once so I could feel the weight, it was a revolver. I was 9. I SO badly wanted to shoot him, and I didn't. He later went on to molest his stepdaughter after my parents divorced. I've always felt bad I never shot him, as a kid I knew even then I could probably get away with it. But I also knew my mother couldn't afford to live just yet without him.

@Vivaci It's a long time ago now, I mean you could get raped tomorrow and without any DNA there is very little chance of a conviction.
