Is $63.00 per month a high rate for auto insurance?

How much are you paying, for those of you who drive?

I wish I paid that little.

@chrisCA I live in Ontario and have a pristine driving record, get a veteran's discount and still am paying almost $900 for one vehicle and $1,200 for my daughter to drive who has a three star rating so far.

@CanadianTraveller So you are paying $2100 all together then?
CanadianTraveller · 56-60, M
@SubstantialKick Yes, about that. Rates went up 15% last year, which I have no clue why as with the pandemic, there was a record low of car accidents.

@CanadianTraveller Same here. In Ontario, with a clean record. I am not a veteran, but I get the over 50 discount. I do have full coverage on a two year old vehicle.

@chrisCA I get a group rate through the National Association of Federal Retirees which includes the federal public service, RCMP and retired military/veterans. It is about a 15 percent discount through Johnson Insurance (Intact in Ontario). That also includes grouping my house insurance which is another $1,400 on top of that. House insurance jumped from 40 percent in 2020 for the K4A area.
