Blocking - reserved for aggressive and confrontational individuals
Muting - reserved for some who can annoy or I'd rather avoid seeing
I've no reason to avoid you. Politeness is a plus and I welcome honesty that's non-aggressive

@iQuit agreed
I don't block if we don't agree, but I will block offensive people.
lonelyloner · 31-35, F
@StormInaTeacup exactly so am I
Dez580 · 61-69, M
Sadly good manners and respect do not exist much online, but blocking someone is very juvenile at times, simply desist from contact, much easier and polite.
homespun2 · 70-79, M
blocking is for unkind nasty people.......You cant agree with everyone or everything.
Adstar · 56-60, M
I don't mind people disagreeing with me.. That makes life interesting discussing things with people who disagree with me..
I will not stand people who disagree with me on a certain point turning around and attacking me personally in a vain attempt to undermine my position on the topic at hand..
Play the ball not the player is my motto when it comes to differences of opinion..

@Adstar i admire your thinking sir i never blocked some one for a reason like this
Freeranger · M
Well, you run a certain danger if that mirror doesn't reflect both ways correct? In the next sentence, someone might point out we each have faults that could be held before that mirror....therefore, there are none of us who's refelction does not pale to certain degrees.
Perhaps the discussion then devolves in to humility.

I don't block anyone.
lonelyloner · 31-35, F
@chrisCA good to know , nor I am , i just stop reply if the situation is not comfortable for me
Mmiker · 46-50, M
Either way you stood up for yourself nicely. That’s respectful of you. I’m sorry you had to go through anything uncomfortable like that
lonelyloner · 31-35, F
@Mmiker thanx a lot
Mmiker · 46-50, M
@lonelyloner absolutely
lonelyloner · 31-35, F
@Mmiker welcome
accidentprone · 26-30, M
Only weak and dishonest people block others. Those that want an honest discussion and wish to learn from others would prefer the chat to remain open
RosaMarie · 41-45, F

@accidentprone I block people who send me dic pics. I'm just checking. Does that make me weak or dishonest?
accidentprone · 26-30, M
@RosaMarie You get an exception for that. I am referring to those that wish to continue a false narrative of discussion. Those that send unsoliceted pics are too full of themselves and probably need to be blocked
RosaMarie · 41-45, F
I haven't blocked you. I guess that could mean we've never had a disagreement. It takes more than a difference of opinions for me to block most people. Direct rudeness or meanness.
lonelyloner · 31-35, F
@RosaMarie yes true so i am
Beetlejuice68 · 56-60, M
If they can’t respect your opinion regardless of agreement or not then they are worth wasting your energy on anyway. They probably did you a favour by blocking you.
BiasForAction · M
I think we assume too much when someone blocks us. We do not know the reason and it is pointless to wonder about it.

It's OK to disagree about some things. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
Just be polite about it. No need to get nasty

I don’t usually block to due to confrontation. I have before but only when admin suggested I do.
lonelyloner · 31-35, F
@Spoiledbrat so am I
It's a very immature response in such a situation
PhoenixPhail · M
I'm glad you told him, and told him politely.
That was the appropriate way of handling it.
No, his blocking you was NOT the only way to deal with it. It's actually a very cowardly way.
He did you a favor by blocking you.
Now you won't have to talk with him again.

No. I think blocking you is often a very inconsiderate way of responding to you. Rather than working through a problem, people will simply reject you. It doesn't feel good.
yeronlyman · 51-55, M
It’s the internet
That’s what’s blocking is for
That’s what’s blocking is for
lonelyloner · 31-35, F
@yeronlyman i know but don't you think it's not really an idea that we will follow
Bang5luts · M
I don't understand your question..🤭
lonelyloner · 31-35, F
@Bang5luts i mean if you disagree with me by anything or if i show your fault about anything , do you blocked me after it ?
Bang5luts · M
@lonelyloner no never. I hope to be enlightened or learn something new and possibly make a friend in the process.
If I was the smartest person on this planet, I would say then definitely, without a single doubt we as a species are doomed. Which we probably are anyways because those who are in control of things are stupid and don't know it. Just saying
