Yes, a few times. Once I went on a months long trip to visit Europe and parts of the middle East, but didn't contact people a lot during the trip after phoning a friend from Paris and getting a luke warm response which depressed me and made me feel my friends didn't care what I was doing. Also, I had a bad experience in one country (which I won't name) and didn't want to have to tell anyone about it. So I just didn't stay in touch with friends for months. When I came back, I rushed over to one friend's house and was so glad to see her, bubbling over with impressions of my long trip; I had missed her a lot. Unfortunately, I had not taken into account how she would react to, as she saw it, being totally ignored for months. She got very angry and told me off for about ten minutes, telling me all the reasons I was a total jerk. She then fired me as a friend saying I was too selfish to be a friend. I still cringe remembering her very harsh words.
