Ever been taken advantage of by Car Sales Person?(both)

I wrote another Letter to the Editor today.

I welcome the day the Federal Government introduces more stringent laws
dealing with buying a Motor Vehicle.
Salesmen can spot a sucker instantly and will take full advantage of them.
Several years ago I went to a Dealership to purchase a $14,000 vehicle.
By the time I walked out, the price had risen to $21,000.
With the sales person pressuring me to add all the extras such as $1000 for window tinting.
Rim Insurance, their Car Insurance etc. I later received a refund for the rim insurance because it was found to be illegal.
My wish is that before the contract is signed the full cost of the loan must be shown to the purchaser. That way they can make an informed decision.
Drive away, No More to Pay should also be obligatory.
I am ready to purchase another vehicle and this time I am taking someone with me who will speak on my behalf.
I intend to go in and say I will buy that vehicle, at the advertised price, with no extras.
If the salesperson can not do that then I will go elsewhere.

I tried being a car salesman for a while; wasn't any good at it, but I did learn all the tricks they use, so none of them work against me anymore...
I negotiated a price with a salesman once but he didn’t put it in the contact. I was really upset. We had verbally agreed on a price. I didn’t notice that it wasn’t reflected in the final sale. I complained about it and the salesman totally screamed at me. He was also the owner of the company so wasn’t going to be much I can do about it except not go back to him and pay attention the next time. He totally screwed me.

@Spoiledbrat As do so many Car Salesman. Here in Australia the Government included Car Salesmen in the royal commission into the shonky practices of the banks and are talking about measures to reel in the car salespeople in by June.
