Why does having some sort of a fetish makes a person so weak?

Do you agree or you don't?

This is a pretty good definition of what happens.

A paraphilic fetish disorders is recurrent, intense, sexually arousing fantasies, urges, or behaviors that involve inanimate objects, or suffering or humiliation of oneself. The pattern of sexual arousal often acquires symbolic and conditioning elements (eg, a fetish symbolizes the object of arousal and may have been accidentally accidentally associated with sexual curiosity, desire, and excitement). It results in an altered arousal pattern.

Fetishism itself is a form of paraphilia, but most people who have fetishism do not meet the clinical criteria for a paraphilic disorder, to be classified as a paraphilic disorder it requires that the person's behavior, fantasies, or intense urges result in clinically significant distress or functional impairment. The condition must also have been present for ≥ 6 months.

There are many fetishes; common fetishes include aprons, shoes, leather or latex items, and women’s underclothing. It can range from a fetish that replaces typical sexual activity, one that is integrated into sexual activity with a willing partner, one that is required to achieve sexual orgasm or anything in between. Minor fetishistic behavior as an adjunct to consensual sexual behavior is not considered a disorder because distress, disability, and significant dysfunction are absent. More intense, obligatory, and highly compulsive fetishistic arousal patterns and behaviors could cause problems or become all-consuming.
