Did you grow up in a home where you ate & drank after each other?

I grew up in a home where we did not eat from each other's plates or sip from the same straw someone else was currently sipping from.

(For example, if my brother was drinking the last Powerade from a bottle, I would not ask for a sip from his bottle, but a cup of my own to drink a poured amount from.)

Some friends thought this a bit strange, seeing as how we were family and no one's health was compromised.

How was this done in your house, growing up?

We even share each other's napkins 😂

Lol yes but I've always been the most squeamish one about it. :D I wouldn't have touched foods if somebody else had bitten directly from it. But we would regularly eat some foods from one bowl or ate ice cream directly from the pack which always made my aunt's hair stand up. 😂 We never shared drinks.

My mom would drink from my drink or take a bite of what I was eating...I hated that. I know there probably wasn't any health concerns, but I just thought it was gross. I wouldn't eat or drink after anyone. Now I have tasted things and finished things my wife has had, but it isn't often and for some reason it doesn't bother me like it did back then being her (but I'd still not do that with anyone else).
Well my mom dont mind sipping from our cups but we siblings don't do it especially the cups/glasses. We dont mind sharing snacks plate tho

We could share plates for snacks, but usually not meals. Your cup is fair game.

Most of the time I would steal my brothers drink to take a sip out of it.
