Craigslist and similar are great. So many people who just moved in want someone to come pick up their boxes (for free). Usually this includes "moving specific" boxes like wardrobe boxes and dish boxes

Go to a liquor store and ask. Most grocery stores flatten the boxes for recycle as they are stocking the shelves. They usually don't have any decent ones on hand.

Grocery stores or go to an industrial park and raid the cardboard bins. Of course ask permission first though.
