Is it sad that ive come here to give my life more purpose?

I've been finding Facebook so "yawn" boring for a while.
I've come here as a goal to hopefully fill a void of the lack of friends and social connections with people that i am constantly lacking in my life.
Well, I guess I've answered my own question. It's sad that I've had to go to this extent to reach out to complete strangers to try and fill a void that probably won't be filled. But oh well.
