Yesss! All these fantastic movies are still available today, and I love them. Especially "The Day the Earth Stood Still".

@Gusman I also like 1950's Jack Arnold movies, like "Tarantula". Compared to contemporary standards it's rather twee though.

@jackson55 My favorite horror movies are much older. My all-time favorite is "Nosferatu" (1922). German expressionist cinema at its finest.

@helenS I'm not much into horror films but I do like the older Sci fi. Too much fantasy and cgi in the newer ones.

@helenS I haven't seen the new Star Wars yet, and may not. I think Disney is just making it up as they go along to get more mileage out of the franchise. It's just for the money now.
