How true is this? You can pick your friends but you can't pick your family.

As a very wise man once said. Friends are family you get to pick.

It is true for the most part, but I know first hand that you can pick your family. I never had any kind of real relationship with mine no matter how much I would have liked to and tried to...but when I married my wife, SHE became my family and along with her came her parents and her sister who became my extended new family, and now I have the family that I never had before.

When it comes to "blood family" it's true I suppose, but when they were never really "family" you can start over and pick them for yourself.⭐️The ones that show you that they care, not just use empty words. 😌 Friends are a plus after that. 💓
Very true. There’s also the saying that “friends are the family we choose”. 🙂

In most cases you can't pick your neighbours either.

@Nimbus Thank you, I do too.

@Zoranna 😔I sure hope nice people moved in. 💓

@Peaches We haven't even put it on the market yet, the virus brought all that to a sudden halt, so it's still empty. Thank you anyway. 💖

I mean you can’t pick your blood related family but those you consider family outside of that and of course friends you can choose.

Family is those that stayed by your side no matter what, not blood.

You can pick your family, sometimes your friends become your family
I don't ever remember "picking" my friends.
