Do you remember the very first joke someone told you, when you were little?

Why did the man throw the butter out the window?
He wanted to see the butter-fly.

An uncle told me that one. Later on, I repeated it to a different uncle, who had a very different lifestyle, shall we say. He told me this one:

Why did the drunk go up on the roof?
He heard that the drinks were on the house.

I could not understand it at all, and he spent more time explaining it to me than it took to tell the joke! And after all that, I still did not think it was very funny. (I don't think I really understood what "drunk" meant.)

My dads brother used to "break" his thumb, but thats also a trick too. Umm i think it was mostly around bodily functions like farting. Although we called them troomps back them

@Peppa I just googled "troomp." Apparently your family was in a league of its own as far as usage of that word goes!
