God yes.

Asking the doc for a specific test because I KNOW I have all the symptoms of a particular condition, only to be laughed at, assured that I couldn't possibly have that condition...then after 50 negative tests for OTHER conditions, he finally gives me the test I asked for and it's positive. 🤬

@DearAmbellina2113 That is how I found out I have CTEPH, by forcing tests to be done to find out why I had severe shortness of breath and extreme fatigue during activity.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@NativeOregonian it's how I was diagnosed with PCOS, Chronic fatigue syndrome, and Fibromyalgia.

@DearAmbellina2113 *hugs* I am so very sorry you have those :(

My mother has fibromyalgia as well, she spent years, and thousands of dollars out of her own pockets, and doctors laughing at her, before she found a sympathetic one that finally gave her the proper tests that officially diagnosed her.

@NativeOregonian it's a damned shame how ostracized the medical community makes us feel.

@DearAmbellina2113 It is, and the motherfuckers ALWAYS blames our weight. I am fat because I am sick, I am NOT sick because I'm fat >:(
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@NativeOregonian yeah I have dealt with that too, from the judge at my disability hearing. He failed to notice that my medical records show my weight increased AFTER being diagnosed. 🙄

@DearAmbellina2113 My weight didn't even come up at my disability hearing last month other than I get severely short of breath and extreme fatigue during exercise.

@DearAmbellina2113 It actually took me over two years to finally get a prescription for bed time oxygen use, both my lung specialist and a sleep specialist kept trying to push sleep apnea and the use of a bipap machine, which made me feel like I was suffocating. Finally my coumadin clinic doctor listened to me and understood that maybe all I needed was night time oxygen to help me feel better in the morning.
