What is the most common alcoholic Shooter?

I see so many people these days, in Movies and on TV having Shooters.
Never had one in my life and they were never around in my drinking days in Tassie.
The purpose of drinking shooters is to get drunk, quicker?

I think so, although they're often sweeter and more palatable than the long drinks so some prefer them. I think bars realise there's more profit in them because if you serve someone a pint of beer, it might be 30 minutes before they come back for another drink. If you serve someone a shooter, they're buying another drink straight away.

My guess would be tequila. I don't like it myself, my favourite shooter is a B52, they taste lovely.

@Zoranna What ingredients in a B52?
Zoranna · F
@Gusman The ones I had were equal layers of Kahlua, Baileys and Cointreau.
Any drunk with a gun!

People don't know their drinking.
A shooter isn't just a synonym for a shot. A shooter is a mixed drink you drink in a shot. Usually in a tall cylinder glass.

A shot of straight liquor isn't a a shooter, its just a shot.

@MethDozer So a Shooter also has a non alcoholic ingredient?
MethDozer · M
@Gusman No it can be a mixed cordial.

It's just mixed drinks served as a large shot. Usually in a taller narrower shot glass. Like lemon drops are a shooter, sex on the beach can be made into a shooter. , etc.
It's a cocktail served as shot instead of say a shot of tequila or a shot of whiskey.
