Did your Dad think of himself as a handyman, but everything he built was crooked, cracked or it fell apart?

Mine did.

Nah, my dad thought of himself as a handyman, and generally did far higher quality work than people who actually made their livings as such. Sadly, he was strongly averse to teaching others anything he knew.

@Keraunos Why?
Keraunos · 36-40, M
@Allelse In my appraisal, because he's very insecure, and was afraid he would be less-needed if anyone else in the family had the same skills as him.

@Keraunos My Dad's insecure, which is why he's always talking about how great he is.

@Allelse Mine is probably insecure in a different way. Truth is, he's actually done a lot of really awesome shit in his life, so he kind of knows he's "great" and doesn't need to brag much about it. He's more saddled with abandonment issues, feeling insecure about receiving consistent love and loyalty from other humans, including his family.

@Keraunos Mine's just an idiot.
