Both options dont fit very well for me. In August 2017 my father suddenly died. On saturday we celebrated my birthday with friends and family, and on sunday he had a heart attack while on a bike ride. He was unconcious for two weeks before the doctors removed artificial breathing. Six hours later he was dead, and the hours before were the hardest I ever had to watch. His mind was gone, but his body was simply being tortured by being unable to contain life. We were weak after watching it for hours. When we arrived home 15 minutes later, we got the call. There was nothing left of him. It was better that way. Its always better, in my opinion. Dying is about the suffering, not about those left behind.
