I've seen a slow decline before. It stops becoming bad for that person when their mind goes, but it's still painful for their family and loved ones. Quick will always be better.

Both options dont fit very well for me. In August 2017 my father suddenly died. On saturday we celebrated my birthday with friends and family, and on sunday he had a heart attack while on a bike ride. He was unconcious for two weeks before the doctors removed artificial breathing. Six hours later he was dead, and the hours before were the hardest I ever had to watch. His mind was gone, but his body was simply being tortured by being unable to contain life. We were weak after watching it for hours. When we arrived home 15 minutes later, we got the call. There was nothing left of him. It was better that way. Its always better, in my opinion. Dying is about the suffering, not about those left behind.

There are some people I know that live drugged out lifestyles and run the streets that it actually surprises me that they are still alive.

It depends if I care about them. If I loved them, or they were a good person, then quickly. If not, then take your time. I chose "A".

Depends on how much I liked them.

Less painful for the person is sudden death - time to say goodbye while they suffer is the more selfish option
