From what I remember, one of ours was a big huge Chevy Caprice wagon that looked kind of like this:
When I was 11 (1989), my parents got tired of the gas guzzler and traded it for a 2 year old Dodge Grand Caravan that looked similar to this, only in better cosmetic shape obviously...

Your question had to make me chuckle. I vividly remembered a '41 Oldsmobile that my father bought used after WWII. Primarily because the styling was so much different than the '38 Plymouth we had all during the war and immediate post-war years. He, on the other hand, vociferously denied he would have ever owned an Olds and never had. My brother concurred with me.
