It was kind of fascinating watching it unfold on the television actually.

Although it was happening before my eyes it had an unreal quality at the same time.

I've never experienced a similar feeling before or since. You knew this was a point at which the world was about to change.

@GlitterBug It was the springboard for a deeper level of fear, mistrust, and media manipulation.

We'd just about recovered from the cold war effects and things were looking optimistic, and then this plunged us right back in again.
@Quizzical One of my clients had been a cordboard operator in downtown SF during WWII and told me she hadn’t felt such fear since Pearl Harbor.
