I don't know, as an outsider, but aren't there too many Democrats running for election?

Yeah, but on the other hand the Republicans had even more running in 2016. Plus with Clinton selected so early she simply became a target for the right. How many investigations did they start?

@monte3 she was a terrible choice to run and the democratic party fucked over Sanders even though he was way ahead in opinion polls as the most popular candidate but the democrats are also enthralled by corporate money and power.....unfortunately she has got a political history that's an easy target...... "We came, we saw, he's dead"

I do think she ignited right wing hate in a special way.
gol979 · 41-45, M
@monte3 the far right perpetuate hate and fear anyway, Clintons history gives them a purchase in reality......she is a corporate shill, through and through

I am convinced that for the Democrats to win we have to take WI, MI, IA and PA. You can’t go go to far left in my opinion.
gol979 · 41-45, M
@monte3 even the mention of free.education or healthcare is deemed too far left......so I would diaagree.
These policies are popular with the public but vilified by the msm, corporations etc.....but genuine progressives have to stick to debating policy rather than getting bogged down in identity politics and a "personality" contest

Oh I think healthcare is the issue that won the midterms, especially in the suburbs where I live. Issues won here for sure. That is key.

@monte3 healthcare under what parameters though? Universal free healthcare?
monte3 · 70-79, M
Many possibilities and that as a goal certainly.. I would argue for expanding ACA and keeping as much of the interest mployer insurance as possible. Small steps work.@gol979
gol979 · 41-45, M
@monte3 so does free universal healthcare. There's empirical evidence from other countries.......so why don't you just go for the larger step?
monte3 · 70-79, M
You are talking to someone who though Hillary was more electable than Sanders last time so take that in to account. I understand how well this works in Denmark say, but I am hoping to avoid being readical to win WI and MI.

@monte3 I really don't know why you think that Hillary was in any shape or.form a better candidate than sanders? Surely her record on Libya and just the fact she gave 2 speeches to Goldman Sachs for $600,000 each shows her true colours? And there's plenty more.......her "super predator" comments (although quite a while back)?
