Is there anyone in this world who has trained themselves to not feel sadness, pain and desire?

The three things that hold me back
SW-User
Only monks do, they have a sort of detachment towards everything. Living in the society and being around needy and greedy people, it's very hard to inculcate such discipline. That's why they live in place s away from vices.

@SW-User 😹good that I can smell ur wisdom now . At least monk life has ultimate ending. Any plan / project for near future? With ur intelligence certainly u can contribute alot to the society on a large scale and earn some money first
SW-User
@TanMiaoMiao Just because I sound witty here sometimes doesn’t mean I’m intelligent 😂
TanMiaoMiao · 26-30, F
@SW-User 😹😹😹be confident
LyricalOne · F
No such thing. All a part of life. Best you can hope for is that you learn from them.
SW-User
@LyricalOne No such thing? Sounds dismissive
LyricalOne · F
@SW-User No such thing not to feel those things. Anyone who says otherwise? Personally I don’t buy it. Dig deep enough, they do.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
Feeling these things is what separates us from the dead. And feeling these things ensures we are also capable of feeling happiness and pleasure.

Don't run from emotion. Embrace your emotions and make them yours. You got this! 🤗
SW-User
@sarabee1995 That makes sense too, ty 🤗
Try brainwashing 😂
SW-User
@YukikoAmagi Yeah I probably need to get recruited by the secret service 🙄
SW-User
Pain is but a Phantasm of the mind, I've gotten pretty good at not feeling it from lots of selfharm and self-infliction of it as a teen. Sadness is just like happiness to me, they're dead. Desire is a little harder to kill.
SW-User
@SW-User At what age did you stop feeling pain?
SW-User
@SW-User I can still feel it but it takes a lot. Probably about 22'ish
Well , after few years of depression I started to not feel sadness. Like ever. Ty pills!!!
Other than that my emotions are really dead lol except feeling anger...
SW-User
@Minzz Sounds ideal except for the anger, oh and I like how cool your Zepeto looks

We will always have pain and desire I try to stay happy bring depressed or unhappy is not an option you only live once so I make the best of it
SW-User
@JohnOinger Yeah you do seem to be the happy go lucky type
SW-User
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout They’re important to keep around though
SW-User
Same for me. If you find a training manual for it, let me know.
SW-User
@SW-User Thanks.. that's a great compliment. I think i am but i have a lot of those three feelings you mentioned that i keep suppressed from my past relationship failure. The thing is, i don't want to kill off those feelings because i'm worried that i might not ever feel again... as in a good way when i meet someone. Does that make sense?
SW-User
@SW-User On the plus side even if you kill it off, chances are you’ll feel it like the first time when you meet someone new
SW-User
@SW-User I hope so, thanks!
I did and I was soo good at it. Then I met someone who makes me feel so intensely its impossible
SW-User
@PinkPowerRanger I hope you find your way again
zeeva70 · F
You can choose not to focus on things that make you feel bad. Focus on thoughts that make you feel good.
SW-User
@zeeva70 I do, but I keep failing
User41 · 36-40, M
Without those things you’d have no reason to move on you jerk. 😏
SW-User
@User41 Move on from what?
User41 · 36-40, M
Life’s shitty moments.
Emotion is the lifeblood of the human condition. You don't want to lose that trust me.
SW-User
@WonderingWhileWandering Lifeblood sounds like a stretch, sounds like one of those things we’ve been told too many times
SW-User
Sure. I did it. I exchanged it for sarcasm and agitation. 😌 Then it all cane back the next second.

SW-User
Whether you believe you can or cannot, you are correct.
SW-User
@SW-User Ikr so many people are in denial lol
SW-User
My brother seems to fit that description
SW-User
@SW-User What is his profession?
SW-User
He’s in final year of college @SW-User
SW-User
I think I can't feel these as much as I used to.
SW-User
@SW-User Does it feel good? Oh and your pfp looks so cool with the blob effect
SW-User
@SW-User Yeah, I think it's mostly better.
Thanks 😁
SW-User
I doubt it. People will tell you they have but they're probably just lying to themselves.

In order to survive when I was a child, I trained myself to not show feelings that weren't acceptable for others to see. The consequences of showing those was way too dangerous. That training still holds me back, too.

They're also three things, among many, which tell you your proximity to your true being. How will you navigate in this world without knowing where you are and what direction to go?
charanlove · 26-30, M
Not completely but up to to certain level I am the one
texastrue · 61-69, M
Not possible but you can put all that to the side.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Pain is human
SW-User
@basilfawlty89 Not really, it seems to be one of those things we’re forced to believe
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@SW-User just like physical pain, mental pain is your mind's message something is wrong
SW-User
@basilfawlty89 That isn’t the point
Zonuss · 41-45, M
One must overcome the fear of vulnerability in order to move ahead in this issue here my friend.
