I didn't know them that well, but I'm told my great grandfather was Czech and my great grandmother was Welsh, and they came to the U.S. some time in the late 20s.
Here is my great grandfather as a baby with his parents.

I was born in the fifties. My great grandparents were alive when Queen Victoria was the monarch of England. And my grandparents were all born at the end of the 19th century.
Which might explain why no grandchildren old enough to vote yet as yet exist to me. And why when I am speaking English the average person is completely unable to comprehend most of my words.
But I do know a thing or two and could brag of a few of my predecessors accomplishments if I had a mind to.
I'm more concerned about my own, really. And even then, the why of it.

My great grandparents on both sides, came from Sweden, Norway and Denmark. My mom was forced by her parents to live with her Danish grandmother because she needed a helper. Mom's name was Mary but her grandma called her Meddy. She taught my mom to cook Danish food and I grew up eating that way too. ☺️

@metaldog I had the vinyl single when I was 11. Sadly it acquired a crack in it after a few years and I had to buy another copy.

@RaemaSnr thanks. I don't know much about them because I have an estranged father. So all I actually know about them is from stories that mum's told me

Mine sold their twelve ancestral holds at very cheap price to prove a point.

I haven't even got any grandparents any more, let alone great-grandparents. All my great-grandparents died long before I was born.
