You ever did something so cool/badass that even you were surprised?

Yes...in college. The music department head handpicked his pianists for the glee club and other vocal groups. Every year of hundreds of music majors he would choose only 5 and I was just a freshman; I didn't think I had a chance. The competition piece had to be fairly brief but impressive, since lots of people where competing. I chose the Toccata from Debussy's "Pour le Piano", and did well enough to secure a spot. I didn't realize that some of my dorm-mates had come to watch until the final bars, when they started cheering...
