A question for fellow introverts:

Can you remember going to a children's party, wanting to join in the fun, but for some reason not being able to?

I've never been the life of the party, but I don't think it's introversion. Mostly I find an out of the way chair and watch. I find human behavior fascinating and have a sort of 'journalistic distance.'

@Mamapolo2016 God I love that quote. Are you some kind of psycho-analyst in disguise?
Well, in an amateur fashion. Strong emphasis on the 'psycho' and addition of intuitive...psycho-intuitive-analyst. ☺@alan20

@Mamapolo2016 Many might claim it, few achieve it. I'm going to have to watch my step with you!!

Yes. Most of the time I only knew the birthday girl and she was surrounded by people. When I go to parties I like to have someone I know stand around on the sidelines with me.

@GreenGoddess Nowadays I'd never attend such things without my wife, who loves to dance!

No. I never wanted to join, I just wanted to go home and be by myself. I don't feel comfortable in large crowds or parties.

@SumKindaMunster No problems with loneliness?

@alan20 Not at all. Before I was married, yeah, but now that I have a wife, she's all I need.

Yeah. It was full of kids I didn't like who picked on me a lot. That is one reason I didn't want to stay.

@SW-User Strange thing is I didn't really dislike many of my peers. The adults were worse.
