what is the worst weather distaster you have lived through

1982, when I lived in Pacifica, CA. There was a series of storms in the beginning of the year that caused mudslides in the hills. Where I lived was spared, but some homes slid down into a canyon, and lives were lost.
In 1989, the Loma Prieta earthquake caused damage and deaths throughout the Bay Area.
