Why is this ok

If a woman makes a group and is "Empowering women" it is OK to exclude men. If men want to have their own group and they don't include women they are called sexist and treated like criminals why? Now I know somebody is going to act out once they read this. I am going to tell you upfront if you are rude disrespectful or simply trying to bully people that disagree with you. I will block you quickly. Don't challenge my manhood or try to attack me as a person. It is just a question.

I'm not in to all this feminist malarky but whilst it feels unfair (and I do see your point), it is probably because 'traditionally' men do have the power over women (in the physical sense). These women that want to 'empower' themselves are usually victims of being over-powered by men and hence don't want men in the group....due to fear. Not all men are like this, I know, but I guess the group is being set up so these women can speak in the safety of the group.

@pennynoodles I can tell you took the time to think about your reply I appreciate that. I think when women try to not feel left out It creates a lot of hostility and resentment towards women.

We have groups.. its called sports 😂
darktippedrose · 36-40, F
@BlackHeart lol, too funny
NakedExperiment · 51-55, M
@BlackHeart I hate sports. Sometimes I think you have to be on the spectrum to enjoy watching most of them.

Women don’t respect men and I don’t blame them. We have failed
YouCanCallMeDan · 41-45, M
I can’t talk with three people at once. Sorry we don’t agree. Thanks for the book recommendation. Have a nice day @ZenKitzune

@YouCanCallMeDan Not cut out for communal living huh 😁

I think if a bunch of women get together to be "empowered" it would seem that they blame men for not having any or much power to begin with and might not want to have to spend that time defending their views.
Men would not likely congregate to converse about "empowerment" due to the fact that they probably don't spend as much time feeling "powerless".
In my opinion it might not be as much about the right to congregate fairly as much as common interests or issues that draw the different sexes together in their own gender.

@dragonfly46 Some of us men realise we are becoming more and more powerless every day 😥
Capt11 · 51-55, M
@dragonfly46 I thank you for taking the time to reply

i think it depends on the group. All mens group to empower each other as fathers, and such. I think thats a great idea. Too many have had horrible fathers.

I think certain all male groups, they're speech can get vulgar and very triggering. And threatening to some women.

But I personally have no problem with it, if its a good group.
darktippedrose · 36-40, F
@Capt11 so you're upset that you don't get to have a bad group of men where women are excluded?
Capt11 · 51-55, M
Lol no I am good, have you seen that girls can join the Boys Scouts. A young lady was allowed to attend a traditional historic all boys school. These things are wrong to me that is why I asked.
darktippedrose · 36-40, F
this is what you're referring to? I have no idea. I would have to contact that organisation. I'm guessing it has a lot to do with politics.
Peppa · 31-35, F
I think it's more to do with the fact that for years women have been segregated from many "groups" because they've been deemed manly...

Look throughout history- take voting for example.
It doesn't make it right. But it seems that somewhere along the way women as individuals in a predominantly male platform/environment easily sell out not realising they're the token, the exception to the rule. These so called women take on manly traits, when these groups want women to be confident as they are and go out in solidarity to make the changes that can be beneficial to all and not just one or two.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
What I think does it is that they feel like being left out should make the pendulum swing to their favor when instead we should be balancing.
Katy03 · 18-21, F
I actually agree with you. Sometimes women only groups are best, so we can talk, exchange ideas, without guys to dominate or when things are not for guys ears - like I'm never gonna discuss period related stuff with a bloke!! But why shouldn't this work both ways? There have to be times that you blokes want to get away from us?

There are enough misogynistic pigs around, without us perceiving sexism when it really doesn't exist...
Capt11 · 51-55, M
@Katy03 Thank you for your reply I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

SW-User
Guess your white?
Capt11 · 51-55, M
@SW-User So now we are going to play the race card. That is not what this is about. I appreciate your response but it is inappropriate and not welcomed. Please behave it is not necessary to act that way. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Maggimay · 46-50, F
@SW-User what has white got to do with the question?
🤔
SW-User
@Capt11 lol you're too judgemental, I'm white and male, currently the most blamed and shamed minority on earth! Yet I've been complicit in zero! I didn't pick this, being white, didnt pick being from the west, nor being str8, having all my limbs intact generally in good health and being generally happy and I'll be fkd if I'll be a martyr for those that are not as me. Tolerance is a two way street!
SW-User
I am not a fan of groups that exclude people ,but I have no problem with them being made.
I think if men and women would spend less time at war with each other and more time listening to each other both parties would feel more empowered.
pennynoodles · 56-60, F
Well said. @SW-User
Capt11 · 51-55, M
@SW-User I always enjoy a good response. Even if I do not agree I appreciate that you took the time and effort to reply and post meaningful words.
