Once upon a midnight dreary, as I pondered, weak and weary, over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore...

Once upon a midnight clearly;
I desired you , so dearly
My mind fired with lust, and more
Not for my loved one;
Named Lenore; but rather hence; another.
Having read a tome of love and lore

When suddenly there came a tapping;
"Incessant fools”, who could be wrapping"
Wrap-tapping at my chamber door.
Slowly entering, creeping nearly;
My heart had wondered
"Should I fear thee"?
But she just smiled as she neared me
Saying "You will want for "Nothing More"

"For it is you that I adore”
"It is your love that I implore"
"And should my age be four score"
I'll still want for Nothing more.

I'll still want for nothing more

@Elandra77 Oh wow, you found Lenore.
@BlueMetalChick Yes. I am a huge Poe fan- as seen by mt avi of Annabel Lee.

I had an old friend on EP who loved POE as much as I. Except she liked The Raven and the aforementioned. She had wrote a torch poem called "Nothing More" Whether it spoke to one in particular I never knew. But I was going to reply to it, in PM, in my own way. So I write this. Never before seem on EP! (except in PM)

That was in 2012. I can remember how hard it was to write in an 1830's old style of poem form- and still pay deference to Poe and to her work. This is far from my best- but it was challenging.

I always loved Lenora as well. And Lenore the dead girl books.

@Elandra77 Oh I remember Lenore the Dead Girl. Those were sweet.
@BlueMetalChick They were very offbeat!

And- as you are also a comic book geek. You may find this interesting. A niche piece and not one that is looked for a lot.
