I'm in grief over some wild rabbits I released into my daughters yard.

Our dog has been bringing up baby rabbits for 2 months now. We finally had a round of them that lived. I had a favorite one that was very tame and I called her Amelia. I let all of them go. My daughter had taken 3 of the 9 with her and also released those 3 that day. A few days later she saw one dead under the brush pile where we let them go. She saw a couple outside of the pile eating one day, but then never saw any since. They were only like 3 weeks old. Now i regret not at least taking Amelia and just keeping her a pet. I thought I was doing the right thing letting them all go, but they were safe in their tub in the house with us. I'm afraid a predator got to them. My son in law took a flashlight last night to look under the brush pile and didn't see anything 😓

Rabbits are a major pest in Australia it was a big mistake letting them go here

I live in Missouri and there are lots of areas they can spread out to. I didn't know they were pests in other countries
