Are humans Apes? If not, why not? Are humans animals? If not, why not?
Some religious folks believe that humans are special creations and seem to get offended at the idea that humans are indeed animals but can they explain why humans should not be considered apes or indeed members of the animal kigndom?
Free will, an animal in general only act on instincts some like elephant, whales, and dolphins show capabilities just like some humans so no free will.
It sounds like you raised free will as a distinction between humans and animals but then pointed out some animals who also exhibit free will so I'm not sure what you're trying to say.
I'd also say the list of animals with free will is very extensive and indeed, humans are acting far more on instinct than we like to pretend. We're just good at rationalizing it after the fact lol
