Do you eat/do any special things on the weekends?

I like to sometimes treat myself to McDonald's breakfast once a month or so on a weekend 😃🍳

Yes we always make a big breakfast on Saturday and Sundays and on Sundays we make a big pot of soup or chili and eat on it all day. Big family favorite

Often go to the mine a family member manages and work on various things that they don't have the man power to do. That way it gets done. Also im an inventor so i get asked to solve problems with the mine. Im working on a system to drain water out of a pit of mud so as to dry the material and keep the pit empty. Often we have rootbeer cream pie and something like potato salad with chicken. We put a phone on this big cable that goes to our TV and watch YouTube videos from content creators like Myster Man 1111 or Bedtime Stories. Paranormal stuff and creepy stories.

The last time I went to McDonald's was in 1982... that was my second and last time to ever go to a McD's.

I know a lot of people like them, I was never a fan.

No. Every weekend is pretty much the same.

Except today (it is a holiday so I was off work). I had a regular checkup with my doctor.

They had no A1C equipment or person on site. They usually do. But they can draw blood and send it to Labcorp. So I had an unexpected blood draw. Ouch.

Also, yesterday, a nasty boil developed on my neck. They usually go away so I do not seek help. But since I was already scheduled for today it was perfect timing. Yet it also could have meant more visits, drugs, and referrals. I am so sick of them. I hoped my doctor would not see my boil.

She saw it and prescribed me an antibiotic and referred me to a dermatologist. So I had to go over and schedule an appointment, for Wednesday, then shuttle back to finish setting up the referral. Yet more paperwork and portals! Then I could not log on to the dermatology portal, and after some back and forth via text they realized they had misspelled my name. Ugh.

By the time I see them Wednesday, the boil will likely be long gone. I am taking the antibiotics now, though. Also, my doctor said long ago I should see a dermatologist because of my diabetes. Also, my near-fatal neck infection of 2023 was in the skin. I had deferred it because I was dealing with enough medical activity, seeing 2 other specialists. I just want to be left alone! I recently stopped seeing my gastroenterologist and now I have a new specialist, a dermatologist.

Sheesh, I managed to live for two decades before all this without seeing any medical professionals, except for my Covid shots!

This weekend I am also going through my stuff to find junk to toss and stuff to give to charity, to lighten the load for my move in August.

I will also be eating breakfast at restaurants!

@JoyfulSilence Sorry of the issues lately, I hear ya. My sister is SO sick of doctor appointments and referrals... she has severe neuropathy so, seeing various specialists for blood flow, nerves, and her diabetes. they never set up a referral for her, she has to always call. She said I can barely get out of bed nevermind all this extra stuff... :(

And she's tired of managing her health, like you feel too. It's like a job in itself!! I do hope the boil goes away soon.
I've been having a weird thing, for several months, when I urinate, it feels I still have to go. I thought, well it's probably weak muscles and I'm getting older. But its' been six months and its still happening. I avoid doctors just b/c of blood pressure checks. To think , I probably would have gone in a couple months ago if I wasn't so panicked about my BP. .... ughhhh. I just really hope this isn't cancer or something. I'll call soon. I wish life wasn't so complicated with health- our bodies are strong yes.. but also fragile ... :(
