is it me or does my friend sound rude?

after a year of so of her asking me to come down she want to act different idk maybe she mad cuz the time she was supposed to come visit me I told her I have a studio and it's not big enough for the both of us.

So when I told her I was coming back down south she want to get smart and be like I hope you have hotel money and I'm only off on weekends. like that's cool but you don't have to be smart about it.

idk maybe she just felt some type of way cuz when she wanted to come up here she couldn't stay with me cuz I have a studio and live with my boo thing

A slightly more positive suggestion. A wise man once told me "Never put down to malice what can be explained by ineptitude or incompetence."

Maybe she's recently been in a situation where she's over committed and been burned by it. Maybe she's just started a new job and really needs to focus on that. Maybe she's just trying to manage your expectations, so you're not disappointed. I know i've been in situations where I'm genuinely unable to host someone whom I would otherwise love to have stay with me. Granted I'm a little more tactful than that, but the essence is the same. "I really don't have any extra time in my life for anything at all at this present moment, sorry"
Better than spreading herself too thin then resenting you the whole time.
