Found out the Iranian refugee will be here next

Wednesday! They were able to find her a mattress that fits an extra bedframe I have. Hopefully we can make her room cute and cozy. Please pray/send me good vibes..feeling a little overwhelmed; money is tight when it is even just me, will most likely be moving departments soon, and I thought they were going to provide a lot more for her than they are. I told them 3 months, to start..but she will likely need it longer.

@HijabaDabbaDoo dude thank you so much..i was just wanting to post an update, but people are being so kind. i am just doing what i wish had been done for me when i was homeless.

it's crazy tho, bc i had been praying that God would "call me according to His purpose", bc it says that He "works all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose"....

and i am so low on cash and time right now..so i was like how the heck can I even volunteer? i can't stand for long periods of time, i work a lot and have a lot of work stress, no money...but can You help me help the homeless somehow?

BOOM.

Hey @HijabaDabbaDoo, forgive me for my lack of knowledge of that region, but I just posted to your Desi food post, to look for potential food ideas that might be more comfort foods for an Iraq person.

I know Iraq isn't Desi, but from a map I saw, it could be considered right next door. Just hoping that something more from their region might be comforting. Of course, I don't know how long they have been away.

@sstronaut I'm assuming you meant Iran, not Iraq? Neither are desi. Iran is persian, Iraq are Arabs.

The only desi country iran borders is Pakistan but it's like the US and Mexico, the language, food and culture aren't the same. For the most part I think rice is good bet because it's safe. I'm sure she'd appreciate any food

Though Mexican food can be amazing as a person from the US.
