If you want to get married, how much do you expect/demand your love to pay towards the big day?

As a woman, I'm disgusted at the selfish bridezilla movement but there could be men out there who are demanding too when it comes to weddings, however I think since weddings are all about us (!), we need to stop the stupid unrealistic expectations and take some reality pills.

All it cost us was the price of the registrar and a wedding ring for my wife. Les than a hundred pounds all told in 1977.

@ninalanyon Massive bling weddings are to my mind gross and repulsive, primarily because they are always about the woman and the man (presuming it's a m/f couple getting married not mm or ff) is basically treated as an accessory to the event.

@zonavar68 My experience is different, perhaps because of the time and place. The few big weddings I have attended were more about family than either of the principals. We got married without announcing it to anyone because we knew that our parents would want a bigger event than either of us wanted and apart from just not wanting it we also didn't want them to waste the money as they were none of them particularly well off.
