I got to spend some quality time with my younger nieces today

They were playing with an app on their tablet called "Dream Wedding Planner". The player gets to plan every aspect of the couple's dream day from the outfits to the wedding cake to the photos. They are marked out of 100 according to some unseen algorithm and compete against other players. Needless to say the couples are heterosexual only and most of the brides to be are white-skinned blondes . .

We had fun experimenting with the groom's facial hair and making him look a complete tit 😂

Nieces were completely engrossed until the moment the happy couple kissed and then it was all a bit 🤢 for them.

I wonder if our girls think they are due a big commercialised wedding. My sisters, their mums, were both married in uniform on Ministry of Defence property. My own wedding was low key and cost no more than £500. Our eldest sister has declared herself to be unmarriageable.

Plenty of time to find out and for them to hopefully to come to their own, uninfluenced opinions 🙂
