Is it tradition to smash cake in the bride's face at her wedding?

Im so confused. (Im on tiktok) The women all seem mad and one groom smashed the cake so hard that the bride fell. Wth?

I've always thought of it as a test. For annulment at best, domestic violence at worst. Whichever partner takes the most pleasure in it.

Feeding each other a bite of cake is a pretty little symbolic gesture.
