I Think Hallmark Made Up Up Valentines Day To Increase Sales

To society: I think the majority of our holidays are more about consumerism then celebration.

Why cant we just get together with friends and family to drink and be merry? Why is there always so much stigma around decorations or materialism.

I think the fourth is one of the last few holidays where we aren't buying useless crap for no good reason. Instead, we buy fireworks to celebrate our freedom. I worry we are losing this one too though. Maybe in another decade, will people start decorating their lawns with stupid blow up Uncle Sams weeks ahead of time? I really hope not.
