Tuesday is wash day!

I didn’t bring many clothes with me because I do have some here, but I haven’t worn many the whole time I have been here! Edoardo has some clothes for the wash this morning, and Chiara, since she’s on her monthly. But what we need to wash will only use one of the lines.

Washing here is hung up on lines on the far side of the house. You have to wash them and walk them in baskets down to the space between two thickets where it can be hung out. You can return within two hours this time of year and it will all be dry again. It is best to use the iron to press all that needs pressing as soon as you take it in or it will be too dry and you will labour over pressing it
