I’m bored. Can one of you explain to me what Thanksgiving is? I’d it just a warm up Christmas? Without presents?

No. Thanksgiving is commonly known as a way to commemorate the colonial Pilgrims' harvest meal that they shared with Wampanoag Indians (who "were key to the survival of the colonists during the first year they arrived in 1620")

@SW-User Oh okay. Why?
SW-User
@Morvoren Why what?
Morvoren · F
@SW-User Why is it a holiday?
SW-User
@Morvoren Why not? Aren't holidays for commemorating special events, lol

@SW-User wouldn’t a Neil Armstrong day or Bernie Mac day be better?

@Morvoren

At this stage I would say yes. 😂

@SW-User being the first man on the moon wasn’t a bigger deal than this?
SW-User
@Morvoren If it weren't for the pilgrims coming here there probably wouldn't be a Neil Armstrong to go to the moon.
Morvoren · F
@SW-User There would. It would just be a different flag

@SW-User

Yes there would be. The technology to get to the moon came from Nazi Scientists, and not "The Pilgrims."
SW-User
@calicuz Then Germany would've been the first. The U.S. wouldn't exist without the pilgrims.

Only if Germany had won the war, would they have been first, IF That's what they would have used "Ballistic Missile Technology" for.
@Morvoren Around my parts Bernie Mac day is a sacred day used for celebration and quiet contemplation.
@Morvoren It’s arbitrary.

I get that the moon landing was a big deal, but if we hadn’t done it, I don’t see the difference. It’s not like it was the start of a moon colony. It was basically a dick-measuring contest with the USSR. Notice we haven’t been back there in 50 years.
