Thanksgiving specials

Aside from turkey, stuffing, etc., what food do you Americans (and Canadians) enjoy the most at your Thanksgiving table. A school friend -- southern and African American -- has a family recipe for collard greens with walnuts and turkey chunks. I could make that my entire Thanksgiving dinner! How about you?

The freshest available fish from the Atlantic, could be Wahoo, Amber Jack, Grouper, Snapper, Tile fish, whatever they caught.

@BackyardShaman One year, my husband and I decided to have an Asian Thanksgiving (despite the fact we're both American red necks). My Hubby made salmon teriyaki. My family still talks about what fun that was.

@LeeInTheNorthWoods that sounds wonderful!! I live in the SE USA relatively close to the Atlantic Ocean, so I can get really awesome fish and it’s my favorite protein. I’m almost Pescatarian, and what I’m having tonight is pan seared Wahoo, which can be very festive. I love good salmon also, the big boats trade Mahi Mahi for very good salmon and I buy it from them.

@BackyardShaman I, too, can have fish at every meal. We're still able to catch trout in our rivers here in the Upper Midwest if you don't mind standing in a freezing stream. But I wish I lived closed to an ocean!

@LeeInTheNorthWoods I love trout and the upper Midwest! With the wahoo I serve steamed collard greens, fresh sweet potatoes, cornbread. Everything grows locally. Simple and good.

@BackyardShaman If I bring a pie, can I come to your house for dinner? 😊

@LeeInTheNorthWoods yep!!! Anytime!
