Oh, Patti, that sounds like a delicious winner! Who doesn't love barbecue chicken!
I'm skipping Thanksgiving dinner this year.
I always cook for my sisters but they always find some reason for me to do extra things because it's inconvenient for them..
It's not enjoyable any more and I spend a lot of time and effort and money.. stuck with more leftovers than I can eat..
This year I'm flying solo.. Christmas too because it's the same thing..
Maybe I'll make prime rib for myself or a nice roast beef tenderloin ..

Find a decent recipe and let the boy handle it

@MarineBob no. I don’t want to clean up after his cooking.

I am planning a large chicken, also. It's very unlikely that turkeys will be available at sufficiently low prices and sufficiently small sizes for me to be able to afford one...unless someone gives me one for free!
Instead of BBQ, (because I don't have a grill), I will just roast it with sausage stuffing and serve it with small amounts of Thanksgiving sides.

Sounds good

I've done pheasant and guinea hen for Thanksgiving as well as chicken. Not as many leftovers. Or go for a smaller turkey.

Sounds like a great plan! Can I bring anything?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Deep fryer outside.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MrBrownstone I don’t have a deep fryer. Would be better smoked but if I’m going to smoke something it’ll be a brisket.

Sounds like a plan...I usually just cook breakfast type foods.
Turkey is overrated.

@Azlotto I think I might have got burnt out last year. Didn’t have much help eating the leftovers.

@RogueLoner I always get the smallest turkey I can find but it’s still too much to eat with all the sides & desserts & bread. I’d love to have BBQ chicken, cole slaw, sweet potatoes, and salad. Or brisket would be good but that takes more time to cook.
