Happy Thanksgiving. But our Thanksgiving always needs to be directed towards God, not just thankful in a vague kind of way, because the Bible says in

James 1:17, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." 1Thessalonians 5:18. All glory to Him. Have a wonderful day all.

Actually you don’t get to dictate to whom or for what I am thankful. One of the basic things I am always thankful for is not being the kind of sucker that falls for silly superstitions like religion.

@redredred It's true that religions can kill people and cause wars. The only thing that interests me is relationships. A person can have a relationship with God. That's mind-blowing. If you haven't got that, you're missing out, bigtime. Forget religion. Get a relationship. Don't be a suckef and bury your head in the sand.

@WalterF I have relationships I just don’t have any invisible sky friends.

@redredred You have clearly never asked him for evidence. Because if you ask, you will receive. A lot of people might say that you owe it to yourself to investigate before making scornful remarks about something you know nothing about.

@WalterF I was sucked into religion as a child as only a childish mind would fall for such dreck. The concept of religion is so silly and, at the same time, repugnant that one has to wonder if there are cultural viruses that induce stupidity.

Please don’t try to tell me that I will receive if I ask. Your imaginary ske friend doesn’t do requests.

@redredred I said in another comment that religion can be a fatal trap. / Apart from having experienced receiving very much very many times from God, I was referring to the words of Jesus: Ask and you will receive. Do you know better than him? / "The idea of religion is so silly" - so you look at the infinite complexity of the human body, and you think it all emerged from a couple of cells in a swamp? Your faith is greater than mine

@WalterF In my early Christian days, I used to say, "It's not a religion, it's a relationship" and while it sounds good and is trendy, it's not Biblical at all. Observe James 1:26-27, "If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. PURE RELIGION and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." So when you say that the only thing that interests you is relationships and not religion is not Biblical, because the Bible right there makes it abundantly clear that it is about religion, but true and pure religion, not false and vain religion. Christianity is a religion. The one and only true and pure religion.

@WalterF you look at the immensity of the universe and think some grandad in a gown watches over it all and not a sparrow falls but he doesn’t take note. Please, religions all understate the case and simply say the sky friend is in charge. It’s just painfully stupid, embarrassingly so.

@redredred This is your utter rubbish invention! Some grandad in a gown!! There we agree! Only a stupid embarrassing fool would believe that garbage! / The Christian religion is not understated. The cross is scarcely an understatement. It's the full works
