What is Thanksgiving day? [I Thanksgiving]

ZamZam · 26-30, M
I can't really understand why the Americans salubrate Thanksgiving. It is because the first settlers got help from the indians so they say thank you to them....Just so that later in history they could kill them.
@ZamZam and don't forget steal there lands

On Thanksgiving Day we create a feast. We can do so if we are prosperous, and if there is plenty of food available. Before eating, (in special remembrance of the Pilgrims, so many of whom died of starvation and cold and disease before they were helped by Squanto to learn to plant corn, and how to survive), we give thanks to God for all of the blessings in our lives...for having a great bounty of food, for our health, and for family and friends.

Eating till you pass out with your fam around
At this point, it is a holiday to give thanks for friends and family, good health , etc. to celebrate with people. I enjoy cooking for everyone.

I read that the actual indians they were getting help from were killed just 16 years later.
@ZamZam Another Thanksgiving has rolled around. It is a joyful holiday in US. And is celebrated by many Indians (Native Americans).
